Late October 2012:

Sharing stories along California's Central Coast!

A storytelling tour of San Luis Obispo & Santa Barbara Counties!

SF Bay Area Storyteller

Spreads Tales Down Coast

Storyteller John Weaver, usually known for spreading silliness during his all-ages performances throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and well beyond, will be bringing fun & some mild chills to the Central Coast this month, with a week of storytelling events from Paso Robles on down through Santa Maria.

Local public libraries presenting Weaver’s “Spooky Stories” presentation include Arroyo Grande, Atascadero, Cayucos, Morro Bay, Paso Robles, Santa Maria, and San Luis Obispo. A gentler, laugh-inducing program aimed at an all-ages audience will take place at the San Luis Obispo Children’s Museum and at the Paso Robles City Library.

Storyteller John Weaver is a parent, performer and Early Childhood Educator who shares his traditional oral storytelling at schools, libraries, zoos and other family attractions. As a child, Weaver spent much time on the Central Coast with his grandparents, who were long-time Cayucos residents. “Growing up, I paid many visits to the Cayucos Library—through all of its homes as it grew & moved. As an adult visiting SLO County, I’ve brought my own son to the libraries during our vacations here, as well as to the Children’s Museum. I’m excited to be sharing stories with the local communities this month.”

All of the library programs are free, though tickets are needed for the Santa Maria event. Storytelling at the San Luis Obispo Children’s Museum is included in museum admission. Families are encouraged to check in with the event locations for information.
